some light holiday reading

I picked up a Nicholas Sparks novel at the bookstore the other day, and was struck by these words from one of the characters:

"The saddest people I've ever met in life are the ones who don't care deeply about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there's nothing to make it last."

Who knew such wisdom could come from Nicholas Sparks?

Before and after pictures of our living room (finished last summer), and our kitchen (finished last night!). All we need to do in the kitchen is replace the pantry doors to match the color of the new cupboards.
